This project involved civil engineering site development design, including the installation of a new road entrance, infrastructure improvements for storm drainage, site grading to enhance runoff, and roadway construction. SFE provided project management and design services to support efficient permitting and construction. The design was completed in just three days, allowing the client to proceed immediately into permitting and construction.

This project involved extending eccentric foundations at a municipal facility to support infrastructure improvements as part of a multi-year capital improvement program. 


SFE served as the Owner’s Representative, expertly managing project management tasks by coordinating RFIs with the design engineer and providing essential field engineering support during construction. SFE inspected the foundation work to ensure it conformed with the design intent and collaborated closely with the client to resolve field issues, thereby maintaining project momentum. 


SFE's involvement was crucial in keeping the project on track, enabling successful progression into the next phase of construction.

Industrial - Capital Projects Built

This project involved a $2.5 million rebuild of a coal dryer scrubber system to comply with EPA requirements. Work included new foundations, a 135-foot steel structure, stack rehabilitation, and installation of a new venturi style scrubber system. Prior to SFE’s involvement, the project had stalled during pre-construction, placing the client at risk of non-compliance.


SFE designed the venturi style scrubber treatment system and produced construction plans, while also serving as Owner’s Representative. By implementing a design-build delivery approach within the realm of civil engineering, SFE coordinated consultants and contractors, effectively managing the project from pre-construction to substantial completion in four months, thus ensuring compliance with EPA requirements. This initiative also contributed to vital infrastructure improvements.
